The Iraqi National museum was created jointly by the British and the Iraqis in the 20's and 30's to establish a common reason for the Iraqi people, for them to be proud of their history and accomplishments, no matter what their religious or ethnic backgrounds were. indeed the museum had served that purpose for so many decades, was expanded so many times, and as long as there were new digs and new archaeological founds, the museum was never short on artifacts. This museum was considered to be one of the 10 most important museums around the world, as it housed the biggest and most elaborate collection of ancient Mesopotamian history on earth.
